Abstract

This project focuses on the integration of phased array technology into the Baryon Acoustic Oscillations from the Integrated Neutral Gas Observations (BINGO) project. The goal is to enhance the sensitivity, resolution, and overall performance of the BINGO telescope by utilizing phased array detectors. The project involves exploring the capabilities of phased array technology developed at ASTRON, the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy, and determining the feasibility of different implementations for the BINGO-HR extension. Comprehensive BINGO simulations will be developed, including synthetic datasets that incorporate the cosmological signal, white noise, and foreground emissions. Cosmological parameter inference will be performed using advanced statistical techniques such as Bayesian inference and Monte Carlo simulations, providing accurate estimates and constraints for cosmological parameters based on the observed data.
