Abstract

This research aims to study the Acogny Technique in its practical, philosophical and conceptual aspects, as well as the fundamentals of modern African dance and its symbologies. It will be investigated, from a practical-theoretical methodology, the Acogny Technique and Brazilian pedagogies in dance that come from this reference for practical-creative investigations. Thus, from body practices, bibliographic surveys and field research, a reflection anchored in contemporary decolonial thinking will be developed with a focus on corporeities for a future proposition of the principles of the Acogny technique as an epistemological possibility for studies and practices of Dance in Brazil.
