Abstract

The research internship abroad (BEPE) aims to participate in training activities and data collection with the Department for Study of Religion at the University of Bayreuth in Germany, linked to the doctorate field: Entrance of Evangelicals into the Tutelary Council (FAPESP 2021/12381-5),. Furthermore, I intend to actively participate in the project: "Religious engineering: the making of moralities, developments and religion in Niger" led by supervisor Professor Eva Spies and linked to the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence Institute at this same university. I will seek to participate in debates concerning - according to the objectives of the doctorate - the role of Pentecostal churches in the public space and the action of individual actors and their ideas about social transformations, as well as their transforming practices, drawing a parallel between the similarities and ruptures among the European and African phenomenon and the Brazilian case. The analysis of the data collected will be carried out through participation in classes conducted by the research supervisor Professor Eva Spies, in the study group and in other scientific activities that relate to the theme and objectives of the doctoral research. The completion of the research internship will contribute to the development of the doctorate since Dr. Spies seeks, together with other researchers and collaborators, to understand the interfaces of the religion and transformation projects and practices of religious engineering, as well as supplementary themes to the research of doctorate. In this way, it is understood that the exchange between the different perspectives will contribute to a better understanding of the field in which religion, economy and politics intersect. (AU)
