Abstract

Ceramic materials are brittle, and this feature avoids many of their applications. The same occurs with the ceramic superconductor YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) when it is produced as textured pellets or nanowires using the solution blow spinning (SBS) technique. In the first situation, cracks appear after heat treatments due to internal stresses arising in the sample. In the case of submicrometric SBS wires, when exposed to a magnetic field, the induced currents generate a mutual interaction, due to the Lorentz force, in such a way that the material is pulverized. Thus, it is necessary to improve their mechanical properties to study and characterize such materials adequately. Therefore, this project proposes the production of YBCO ceramic nanofibers with different silver concentrations (which will be inserted in a one-pot-like chemical route) and its stacking. With this, the influence of the variation of silver content in the morphology, structural, mechanical, and superconducting properties (e.g., Jc e Tc) of the produced samples will be studied.
