Abstract

Corruption is a phenomenon studied from various perspectives; however, its broad and elusive definition has hindered the progress of theories on the subject. The aim of this research is to conduct an integrative literature review of international corruption studies. Specifically, the focus is on understanding how researchers have studied organizational corruption. Where have these studies been conducted? And what concepts have been developed? To address these questions, the methodology of integrative literature review is deemed appropriate. This type of review enables the integration of literature through careful and critical analysis of selected articles. The expectation is to review methods, theories, and the current state of research in the field of corruption. Through article analysis, the geographical distribution of corruption studies will be explored, along with co-authorship networks and key-word associations. Additionally, there is a plan to advance research on corruption concepts, with the intention of deconstructing the widely and ambiguously used concept. This ambiguity has impeded the advancement of theories in this field. As a result of the literature review, pathways for future corruption studies will also be presented.
