Abstract

This work aims to use Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) underlying the proposition of algorithms to optimize resource allocation in 5G networks, where the Radio Access Network (RAN) complies with the O-RAN architecture, considering jointly the network slicing paradigm, the virtualization of the RAN stack and the RAN disaggregation in Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs). The proposed algorithms must cover one or more of the following approaches: traffic prediction, traffic segregation, traffic modeling, and delay guarantee offering, among others. The performance evaluation will be carried out based on computer simulation and/or testbeds, comprehending specific functionalities such as RAN, network slicing, and functional split, in addition to general functionalities such as monitoring and resource management.
