Abstract

The energy transition is not solely a matter of energy policy; in other words, it is not confined to the replacement of energy sources or the reduction of energy usage and consumption. It is part of a broader plan for sustainability in which economic, social, and environmental impacts also carry significant weight. Here, public policies refer to all the means and instruments through which the Government, in an institutionalized manner, conducts its interventions and directs actions. In other words, public policies encompass macro programs, programs, plans, and strategies, all grounded in laws and other regulatory acts, dependent on budget allocations.Understanding the trajectories of countries that are in advanced stages of the energy transition is a means of learning from choices already made, as well as from the arrangements made among stakeholders involved in this decision-making process. This research aims to identify the experiences and actions of countries with significant initiatives aimed at aligning energy transition efforts with broader initiatives related to the broader goals of sustainable development and economic development.
