Abstract

The Textbook Outcome (TO) is an expression in English that refers to the expected or ideal results of a given process. In surgery, TO is a measure composed of parameters that define the quality of a surgical procedure, and allows measures to be compared or evaluated in different centers and locations, in relation to an established standard or reference.Since the quality parameters alone are not enough to reflect the nature of the surgical and oncological treatment of GC, the use of TO as a quality standard seems more appropriate. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the association of TO with survival in patients with GC undergoing surgical resection at our institution.
