Abstract

This research means to gather and analyse references to climatic phenomena, mentioned in written sources from the Byzantine Empire, between the 6th and 11th centuries. To this end, we will use the História da Guerra, by Procopius of Caesarea, the Historia Eclesiástica, by Evrágio Escolástico, in addition to Histórias, by Theofilato Simocata, and the Histórias of Agathias, as well as hagiographic texts.
