Abstract

The application area of hydrophobins is wide and growing, including the solubilization and delivery of hydrophobic drugs, as a tool for immobilization and purification of proteins, biosensors, emulsifying agents, among others. Furthermore, hydrophobins have potential application in technologies related to the reuse and bioremediation of fossil plastic pollution. In this context, the purpose of this proposal is to explore public databases and prospect coding sequences for hydrophobins, carry out molecular cloning, express and produce these recombinant proteins in A. oryzae, as well as conduct initial biochemical studies. Thus, this proposal aims to contribute to the advancement in the area of recycling synthetic organic plastics through the development of enzymatic systems with superior catalytic activities.
