Abstract

The project intends to investigate the "human body" in Descartes' thought from the the point of view of feelings and passions established between the soul and the body, aiming to show that the knowledge that the soul has of body (not while geometric body, but while its body) is not reduced to the pure obscurity and confusion of its ideas, but points to a continuous and peculiar knowledge about it that is built in every relation between the two substances.
