Abstract

Behçet's disease (BD) is an inflammatory condition that affects arterial and venous blood vessels, representing a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. With the aim of providing a more accurate and earlier assessment of this disease, we propose to measure the thickness of the common femoral veins (CFV) in patients with BD and compare them with the CFV thickness of healthy people of the same sex and age. The underlying hypothesis is that the venous wall of the legs of Behçet's patients is thicker than in healthy individuals, suggesting a potential biomarker for early detection of the disease. Our goal is to provide a diagnostic tool with high sensitivity and specificity that allows early initiation of treatment to improve patients' prognosis and quality of life.
