Abstract

Introduction: Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a multifactorial and multisystemic disease that affects pregnant women from the 20th week of pregnancy, more recurrent in less developed countries. It is diagnosed by the presence of arterial hypertension, presence of proteinuria and/or target organ damage. The use of acetylsalicylic acid and calcium carbonate) can reduce its occurrence in at-risk populations. Objective: To evaluate the frequency of use of drugs to prevent PE in a population at risk. Methods: Cross-sectional study carried out at CAISM (Coordinating Center) and at Hospital Amparo Maternal/Unifesp (co-participant) between June 2023 and May 2024. Inclusion criteria: age e 18 years and delivery with gestational age > 20 weeks. Variables: age, race/color, risk factors for PE, use and interruption of pharmacological measures: ASA and calcium carbonate. Once the Informed Consent Form has been obtained, the participant will be interviewed and the medical records will be reviewed. The data will be stored in a specific database. The results will be analyzed with the EpiInfo 7 software. The women will be compared between those who used the medications and those who did not. Categorical variables will be compared with the X2 test and numerical variables with the Student's T test. Values of p < 0.05 will be significant. Carrying out multiple analysis with a stepwise approach to choose significant variables. The calculated sample size is 305 participants.
