Abstract

Due to the constant search for alternatives to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which can be produced in gas turbines, for example, during combustion reactions, the use of equipment focused on minimizing the emission of such gases has been improved. In this context, the use of absorption columns is recurrent, responsible for capturing greenhouse gases from streams, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), from the feeding of solvents and gases containing the contaminant in the column. The present work seeks to create a virtual environment of computational simulations of absorption columns with the aid of Aspen Plus® and Aspen HYSYS® simulators, using the Deep Eutectic Solvent choline chloride and urea as solvent, in different proportions, and as the second input stream the exhausted gases from reactions in turbogenerators. The study aims, therefore, to insert physicochemical and thermodynamic data of DES in the simulation programs, to evaluate the behavior and effectiveness of CO2 capture from exhausted gas in the solvent.
