Abstract

This research proposes the study of classical ballet for a group of aging people, from a pedagogical perspective that prioritizes the recognition of anatomical body structure through movement. The research will be conducted in partnership with the "UniversIdade" Program at the State University of Campinas, and the classes will be structured based on the work of Zélia Monteiro, an artist who has developed a teaching approach that challenges the dominant discourse in dance by emphasizing the individualities of each student. Thus, the study seeks to understand not only the implications of this new pedagogical approach, but also how this dance practice might contribute to the process of restructuring the body image of these elderly people.
