Abstract The rise of 5G and emerging 6G networks provides faster speeds and enhanced connectivity but also poses data security and regulatory challenges. There are increasing concerns regarding data privacy, trust, and software security. As data production escalates in the 5G and 6G era, machine learning and edge computing integration will reshape data management and software security against malicious code, emphasizing the need for robust data access rights and regulatory frameworks. Existing methods like federated learning and swarm learning employ decentralized infrastructure to maintain data privacy, but they also raise concerns about the security of machine learning models. Furthermore, the dependency on open-source components and third-party suppliers can compromise security in the software development realm. Instances of this are evident in supply chain attacks, such as the SolarWinds breach and issues with npm and Log4j library. Solutions like the Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and the Supply Chain Levels for Software Artifacts (SLSA) specification offer approaches to enhance software security. In this research context, Blockchain's decentralized nature provides transparency, traceability, and the utilization of smart contracts, ensuring more secure collaborations in software development and 5G and 6G applications. | |
