Abstract The occurrence of mammary tumors is routine in veterinary medicine, especially in female dogs. Efficient diagnostic methods are essential for the clinician to stipulate therapeutic protocols and prognosis for the patient and are constantly evolving towards a personalized approach to oncological protocols. The use of cytology in cases of canine mammary tumors is an essential tool, as it differentiates malignant from benign processes and studies point to the use of cytology as a method for grading the malignancy of neoplastic processes, being a relevant factor for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of tumors mammary tumors in women, the use of cytology is common both for the diagnosis and for the graduation of malignancy, there are several classification methods, these same methods can be used in mammary tumors in bitches, there are still few studies that evaluate the accuracy of the cytopathological exam , which presents promising sensitivity and specificity for grading the malignancy of breast neoplasms. The present work aims to evaluate, in samples of mammary tumors from bitches, the diagnosis and grading of malignancy in cytology, cell block agarose (CBA) and histopathology and the involvement of metastases in sentinel lymph nodes. | |
