Abstract

This research aims to analyze the representations and images mobilized by audiovisual productions made by peripheral agents in São Paulo and Seine-Saint-Denis. In a first axis, analytical, the research intends to discuss the political perspective of these cultural objects, from the elaboration of the territory as a place of projection of the world, crossed by the themes of gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, in dialogue with a recent audiovisual production. Based on thematic and imagetic recurrences, the research seeks to establish points of connection between Brazilian and French productions, in a critical approach to their poetic and narrative dimensions. In a second axis, practical-propositional, this project proposes to develop a virtual gallery of videos and images, entitled Urbesomatoteca. This is a permanent catalog, with landscapes of cities and bodies, expanding the audiovisual records of individual experiences and collective memory, thus contributing to the recognition of a broader imaginary of urban space and its subjectivities, as traces of fractures and possible encounters in the territory, whether physical or symbolic. This research is part of the project "Urban Imaginaries" (FAPESP 2020/06258-3) Cooperation Agreements / UdL - Université de Lyon aiming to contribute to the comparative study of non-hegemonic and non-institutional imaginary initiatives and the critical analysis of the action of collectives.
