Abstract

The research project 'VOTING IN PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS ON THE E-CITIZENSHIP PLATFORM AND VIRTUAL ENGAGEMENT: an analysis of the role of Twitter/X in digital social participation' aims to investigate the impact os the Twitter/X social network on the voting of propositions in public consultations at the Brazilian Federal Senate, analyzing the quantity of posts, generated engagement, the profile of involved users, and the endorsement from political figures or influencers associated with right-wing politics. The justification for this study lies in the importance of digital social participation in contemporary democracy and the need to understand how social networks influence civic and political engagement.
