Abstract

This research project aims to deepen the studies of scenic direction towards a methodology of counter-epistemicidal staging, already under construction in the advisee's two previous Scientific Initiations (grant #2020/05287-0, São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and grant #2021/05248-7, FAPESP), which crosses its aesthetic actions and its political practice with Afro-diasporic knowledge in order to provoke a friction with the current necropolitical project in Brazil today. As such, a transcreation of the short story "A gente combinamos de não morrer", by Conceição Evaristo (2018) will be investigated with an authorial textual dramaturgy that intersects the literati's work with escrevivência - a concept related to Evaristo's artistic work - of the researcher, together with creative tools evoked from the imaginary of black culture in diaspora. Through this transcreated work, the Indignation Dance (MARTINS, MOURA, REIS, 2017) will be investigated as a creative trigger of a staging that apprehends Afrodiasporic knowledge as basic elements. In order to build knowledge that departs not only from textual writing, but also from orality - common to the researched culture - interviews will be conducted with artists who had contact with the aforementioned creation methodologies.Somatic-Performative Research will be the main method of this research in order to continue with practice as research in the field of performing arts.
