Abstract

The research aims to analyze the speeches of federal deputy Kim Kataguiri and state deputy Arthur do Val during their mandates (2019-2022), a period in which they presented themselves, respectively, as important leaders of the Movimento Brasil Livre in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo. The selection of actors was based on greater visibility within the MBL and a significant vote among all members of the group in 2018. Thus, the research aims to understand how much these actors represent and maintained coherence with the principles of the social movement, or that is, whether they maintained the anti-political discourse or adjusted to the institutions. A secondary objective is to verify whether their positions came close to Bolsonarism and to what extent they remained (or not) within the Bolsonarist spectrum during the period of analysis. The research methodology will be based on the analysis of speeches and contents of shorthand notes - structured primarily in a table after defining the criteria and categories - of the speeches of the main political actors mentioned, using the Chamber's databases as a source of information and that of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo in the period from 2019 to 2022.
