Abstract The hands have several important functions in the human life, therefore, they allow to perform movements with smoothness, precision and coordination. Their functionality can be defined as the ability to engage in daily activities, considering the harmonious work of anatomical integrity, sensation, coordination, strength, and dexterity.Furthermore, their dexterity can be defined as the voluntary execution of movement to perform a functional task or objective with precision and speed, which are important factors in determining an individual's quality of life. The Jebsen Taylor Hand Functional Test (JTHFT) can be applied in order to assess the functional conditions of the upper limbs, as it includes 7 tasks that simulate daily activities, and the duration of each subtask is recorded during its execution. Thus, the objective of this study is to evaluate the inter-examiner and intra-examiner reliability of JTHFT in traumatic hand injuries in adults, in turn, based on the increasing need for alternatives to provide patients with the most appropriate evaluation methods to better meet their needs. For statistical analysis of the data, the SPSS software version 20.0 will be used, and it is expected that there is a moderate to high association between handgrip strength, pain, and functional alteration of the upper limbs. | |
