Abstract

This project aims to introduce the student to the research of systems of interest in condensed matter physics, aiming, in particular, the integer quantum Hal effect. As the main goal, she must learn basic concepts such as the Berry phase, topological invariants, and the associated Chern-Simons theory. Simple models will be used and basic techniques must be learned to achieve this.
