Prova Paulista: how it is understood and used by teachers and pedagogical management coordinators

Abstract

In 2023, the State Department of Education of São Paulo (Seduc-SP) implemented the Prova Paulista, which is a digital assessment, applied bimonthly and covering all curricular components. Their results are made available to teachers after 24 hours, with the possibility of checking correct answers and the percentage of student participation, as well as comparing the results to those obtained in previously applied editions. Considering the characteristics of the Prova Paulista, this scientific initiation project aims to describe and analyze how the Prova Paulista is understood and used by teachers and Pedagogical Management Coordinators (CGP) of the state network. To this end, qualitative research will be carried out in a state school in Bragança Paulista, with analysis of documents sent by Seduc-SP to the school, observation of discussions about the Prova Paulista in Collective Pedagogical Work Classes (ATPC), application of questionnaires, with closed and open questions for teachers and Pedagogical Management Coordinators and interviews with CGPs. For data analysis, the technique of content analysis of documents, open answers to questionnaires and interviews will be used. The closed items of the questionnaires will be tabulated and counted. Finally, the records made from ATPC observations will be linked to data from the other techniques used.
