Abstract

The present proposal aims to analyze and categorize statements and representations regarding the category of law-abiding citizen in the speeches of Brazilian federal deputies, with the goal of contributing to the updating and development of the notion of socially implanted authoritarianism (Pinheiro, 1991). Initially, a literature review will be conducted, compiling research on the origin and development of the law-abiding citizen category. Subsequently, the stenographic records of speeches by federal deputies that include the term will be collected and treated as files. Through a mixed methodology - using R and NVivo software - a discursive and critical analysis of the files from 2016 - the year of Dilma Rousseff's impeachment - until the present will be carried out, along with an analysis of temporal and partisan recurrence using all occurrences. The project will commence in June 2024 and will be concluded in May 2025, with the submission of an article to an impactful journal.
