Abstract

This research project aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for the prevention of suicide attempts in individuals who have engaged in acute deliberate self-harm behavior. Relative Risks (RRs) and 95% Confidence Intervals (CIs) of the interventions will be calculated for distinct groups. In addition to the number of suicide attempts, other outcomes such as suicide deaths, suicidal ideation, and depressive symptoms will also be evaluated.Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) involving individuals who presented at hospital settings following deliberate self-harm will be considered. Pharmacological interventions such as ketamine, as well as non-pharmacological interventions including psychotherapy, will be examined. The search will encompass databases like PubMed, EMBASE, and PsycInfo, along with unpublished data from sources like WHO ICTRP and ClinicalTrials.gov.The findings of this research will significantly contribute to identifying effective interventions in reducing the risk of recurrent suicide attempts in individuals post-acute deliberate self-harm, informing more evidence-based and targeted clinical practices and prevention strategies.
