Abstract

Marijuana is the most consumed illicit drug in the world, therefore it has a relevant rate of dependence and, consequently, significant impacts produced by the consumption of cannabis. Drugs cause various cognitive, physical and social consequences for users, so marijuana has important consequences on consumers' cognition. Different areas of human cognition are affected by cannabis, such as attention, executive function, learning, memory, language, motor coordination and social cognition. There are several indications that cannabis can influence all cognitive domains in some way. There is a growing scientific literature reporting data from studies that assess the cognitive function of cannabis users. However, to date, there is no systematic review that allows a comparative analysis of cannabis effects in all these domains.
