Abstract

Introduction: Brazil had been showing improvements in the fight against leprosy, however the overload in the health system caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated the need for strategies aimed at strengthening actions to control this disease, such as making health promotion conditional on income transfer programs. Objectives: To analyze the spatial dependence of the occurrence of leprosy in the health care network of the municipalities of DRS III - Araraquara / SP with the number of people registered in the Unified Registry System for Social Programs in the period from 2019 to 2022. Methods: This is an ecological study, which will consider the 24 municipalities of the Regional Health Department III (DRS III), which represents 2.23% of the population of the State of São Paulo. The population will consist of leprosy cases, number of people registered in social programs and residents of these municipalities, from 2019 to 2022. The data will be collected from the following publicly available digital platforms: the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS), the Tabulation System of the Unified Registry for Social Programs (CECAD 2.0) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Separate tables will be built for the data to calculate the incidence rate. Spatial autocorrelation will then be checked using the Local Bivariate Moran's Index, which will indicate the degree of association between leprosy and social programs by means of statistically significant values on choropleth maps. Expected results: Identification of the epidemiological and clinical profile of leprosy cases in the DRS III region, including the degree of disability of cases.
