Abstract

Previous studies suggest that the development of a phrase structure grammar emerged in humans from the increasing complexity of certain brain networks. We intend to create experimental tasks sensitive to syntactic processing using multichannel EEG. The fellow is expected to i) conduct a comprehensive review of works investigating language syntactic processing in the brain, especially in electrophysiological studies, and ii) plan one or more studies allowing for a deeper investigation of the networks involved in these processes, starting with multichannel EEG and advancing to ECoG. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to other ongoing research as common interests arise.
