Abstract

This research project is associated with another project sponsored by FAPESP (grant 22/02995-9). Herein, focus is placed on the numerical-experimental study of a piezoelectric energy harvesting system. The problem at hand consists of a beam fitted with a piezoelectric patch. The governing equations of the solid-electric system will be derived by mean of Analytical Mechanics. Following, a numerical simulator will be programmed by the student. Regarding the experimental activities, the first task is the familiarization with the equipment acquired in the scope of the project (namely, an optical tracking system and a shake-table). Using the numerical simulator, the student will design an experiment to be carried out using aforementioned equipment. Once the experimental results are obtained, experimental-numerical correlations will be carried out and discussed. It is important to emphasize that the student will also provide support in the preparation of didactic material (videos) related to the research.
