Abstract

This project aims to analyze the role of female figures in the circulation of objects, starting with Queen Clemency of Hungary (1293-1328). We sought to bring together part of the collection and the gifts it offered to understand the appreciation for certain types of objects and which socioeconomic and artistic relationships led to their circulation, as well as that of the materials from which they were made. It is also important to understand the connections that this circulation promoted. To this end, Clemence of Hungary's will and inventory will be analyzed, as well as other objects similar to those offered or collected by her. The research will seek to contribute to studies on circulation within the scope of the Thematic Project A Connected History of the Middle Ages. Communication and Circulation from the Mediterranean.
