Abstract

This project is linked to the investigation carried out during the FAPESP process number 2020/09413-0, concerning the poetic-rhetorical methods of the verisimilitude construction in the relations between the marvelous and the so-called "anachronistic" in the Coronica Troiana em Linguajem Purtuguesa, sixteenth century translation from the Historia Destructionis Troiae, written by Guido de Columna, in 13th century Italy. In this sense, this project seeks, through a research internship in Portugal, the contact and study of a specific bibliography, unavailable in Brazil, in order to collaborate with a more reliable reconstruction of the medieval fictional tradition, especially of the medieval chronicles writing aspects (whose production and circulation are forceful during the so-called Low Middle Ages, in the Iberian Peninsula), and, consequently, of the presence of that medieval tradition in the 16th century Portugal. As studied in the course of the linked research, the composition and circulation of these chronicles are closely related to political and religious issues that raged across the territory during the Low Middle Ages; now, one have to seek to understand, through the direct study of sources of Luso-Hispanics literate and cultural practices (whose fruits, part of them, are preserved in libraries, archives, collections and museums in Portugal), as well as through the analytical confrontation between the handwritten source of Coronica Troiana (preserved in Codex 298 from the National Library of Portugal) and its editions, the constituent elements of the anachronistic and its verisimilitude within the fictional prose tradition that makes up the so-called Trojan Cicle, in Portuguese territory, especially in Coronica Troiana em Linguajem Purtuguesa.
