Abstract

Popular art has been the subject of constant inquiries, due to the fact that they deal with everyday and sometimes delicate subjects with a poetic and artistic production processes that enchant everyone. Therefore, we propose to analyze the works of artists Ciro Fernandes, printmaker and visual artist, and Vitória Rodrigues, poet, actress, musician and popular artist from the Northeast. His works bring penetrating cultural characteristics and symbolically represent the Brazilian northeast. It should be noted that Ciro's engravings, with their colors and shapes, rescue an artistic activity that is very closely related to Cordel's poetry, giving a human meaning to art as well as a human activity.
