Abstract

The activity plan for this scholarship initially focuses (first 24 months) on studying the association between the consumption of ultra-processed foods and the incidence (new cases) of arterial hypertension among participants of the NutriNet Brasil cohort. The plan includes activities for the scholarship holder that will result in the preparation and publication of at least one scientific article on the mentioned association, including literature review, conducting analyses, interpreting results, and discussing, in light of the obtained results, public policies for the prevention of arterial hypertension in Brazil. Depending on the approval of an extension of the scholarship for an additional 24 months, the scholarship holder will dedicate themselves to similar activities, but now related to studying the association between consumption of ultra-processed foods and mortality from all causes. Other activities throughout the two periods are described in the Work Plan.
