Abstract

The optical method of Digital Image Correlation (DIC) has proven to be an increasingly advantageous technique in relation to traditional deformation measurement methods, as it is easier to handle, takes less time to complete and provides a low implementation cost. The present project aims to equip the Material Testing and Failure Analysis Center at the São Carlos School of Engineering - University of São Paulo with this alternative device for measuring material deformation through optical analysis. To this end, bibliographical studies will be develop, methodological improvement of sample texturing, as well as the improvement of the MatLab routine algorithm and the adequacy of photographic capture for the acquisition of tensile test images, to analyze the data obtained.
