Abstract

Human activities are the main drivers of changes that have impacted all ecosystems. The intensification of greenhouse gas emissions, extensive consumption of fossil fuels, and the uncontrolled generation of large volumes of urban and industrial waste are just a few examples of how anthropogenic actions contribute to climate change and worsen global health. Faced with these challenges, scientists in the field have sought solutions for (i) clean energy generation, (ii) minimizing effluent production, (iii) treating contaminants, (iv) reusing waste, among other issues. Nevertheless, in the eyes of the general public, researchers and scientists are not often seen as key players in acquiring knowledge or addressing current and future crises, leading to a sense of disbelief among the population. In this context, science journalism plays a crucial role in communicating researchers' findings to the affected population. Therefore, this project aims to disseminate the research project developed at the Institute of Chemistry of UNESP, Araraquara Campus, under the coordination of Professor Dr. Juliana Ferreira de Brito. The research focuses on environmental sustainability in energy generation, a crucial theme for addressing the challenges of the industrial era and promoting public awareness. To achieve this, promotional content will be produced to highlight the scientific, technological, cultural, social, and economic relevance of the ongoing research, as well as its potential implications. The produced documents will be shared on the social media platforms of the Institute of Chemistry of Araraquara (@iqunesp) and the National Institute of Alternative Technologies for Detection, Toxicological Assessment, and Removal of Emerging and Radioactive Contaminants - INCT-DATREM (@INCT_DATREM), where the professor is an associated researcher. Additionally, a YouTube project dissemination page will be created for the À project to showcase these and other products. In this way, it is hoped that the developed promotional products will capture the interest of the public, serving as tools for information and education in the field of clean energy generation and water decontamination.
