Abstract

Three-dimensional printing is a technology that is being implemented in many dental applications, such as the manufacture of diagnostic models, surgical guides, occlusal plates, as well as the production of dental structures in the restorative area. After these structures have been made, they can be treated to ensure rigidity, color stability and suitable surface characteristics. The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of a protective coating (light-curing glaze) on the physical-mechanical properties of temporary and permanent 3D printing resins, without the need for polishing. Two resins will be used for 3D printing, provisional resin (Cosmos Temp) and definitive resin (Prizma Bio Crown); Prizma Seal glaze (Makertech) will be used for the surface treatment, and the specimens will be made using two different printing techniques (Type MSLA - Elegoo Mars and Type DlP - Flashforge Hunter). The response variables will be: color stability before and after accelerated artificial aging by immersion in 60º distilled water, after 48 hours, and flexural strength. For color stability, circular specimens 10 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick will be printed with both resins and the surface treatment, with or without the application of glaze. For the flexural strength test, rectangular bars measuring 2 x 2 x 25 mm will be printed. The results will be analyzed using the two-way ANOVA test and Tukey's test for multiple comparisons, adopting a 5% significance level.
