Abstract

Tensile strength is a characteristic of great importance in evaluating the quality of suture threads, as it is directly related to the ability to withstand the stress promoted by the forces that act directly on certain tissues. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate the tensile strength properties of polyglactin 910 suture threads, 4-0, from 3 different brands (shalon, ethicon and bioline). Such properties will be evaluated using a Kratos 2000 MP universal testing machine. The parameters to be analyzed are: tensile strength and deformation, respectively.
