Abstract

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) was established in 1954 in Switzerland-France as one of the largest particle physics laboratories in the world. Its importance for the development of science and society are recognized by both the academic community and by the general population. Brazilian researchers have been developing research in this laboratory for several decades, but the National Congress has just approved the rise of Brasil to the condition of associate member of CERN, which should create various opportunities to technological development in the country. In this project, which is inserted in the celebrations of CERN's 70th anniversary, it is intended to present the collaboration Brazil-CERN, treating the relevance of this laboratory for national scientific-technological development. To this end, materials in multimedia format will be developed seeking to present information from scientists and their works associated with the thematic project "Physics and High Energy Instrumentation with LHC-CERN". It is intended to inform society about the role of the great experiments of this area of physics for contemporary scientific development and promote the recognition of the role of Brazilian scientists in large international collaborations.
