Abstract

Third molar extractions frequently occur indental offices, which can result in edema, trismus andpain. Thinking about improving post-operative care, the South Korean company TMB Co.Ltd. developed the Ora-Aid® intraoral dressing. The objective is to evaluate the processof tissue repair after lower third molar extraction surgery withthe use of the oral patch (Ora-aid), in addition to the clinical factors of pain, trismus, edemaand quality of life. 10 patients will be selected with the two thirdlower molars present, using the "split mouth" model, which will receive boththe treatments. These were divided into two groups: Control Group (CG)without the use of oral dressing (Ora-aid); and Experimental Group (GE) using theoral dressing. Pain intensity will be analyzed with the visual analogue scale(VAS), edema by measurements, trismus by evaluated measurements, quality oflife by possession scale, procedure duration by calculating time, bone formation through periapical radiographs at 2 and 4 months, and will bea clinical evaluation of the tissues subjected to processing was carried outsurgical. Statistical analyzes will be carried out to evaluate the resultsobtained.
