Abstract Dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological condition characterized by discomfort in the abdominal region before or during menstruation in the absence of pelvic disease. The high prevalence of dysmenorrhea is associated with decreased quality of life. This study aims to collect data on the knowledge of health professionals in primary care in the city of São Carlos regarding the diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary dysmenorrhea. The project will be developed in person, with visits to health units to invite professionals to participate in the study. Those interested will answer a questionnaire, which will be completed in person with the researcher, including questions directly related to the management of patients with PD. This form aims to evaluate which assessment and treatment strategies for menstrual pain are known and used by different primary health care professionals. With this mapping offered in the city of São Carlos, it will be possible to identify: how the diagnosis is made for primary and secondary dysmenorrhea; In interventions, there will be a collection of the most common indications offered within primary health care units; and for the treatment of primary and secondary dysmenorrhea, the alternatives on the form include suggestions from the literature, in addition to having open spaces so that other forms recommended by professionals can also be listed during the research. | |
