Abstract

We have established and validated innovative imaging technologies to visualize the dynamics of infection and pathology caused by trypanosomatids in vertebrate hosts or in cellular infection processes in vitro. In this new stage, we are proposing to study the dynamics of infection caused by the ZIKV and SARS-CoV2 viruses using quantitative bioluminescence and/or fluorescence imaging with spatial resolution of two- and three-dimensional images, particularly during brain involvement, using adapted models. The strategy is challenging and will allow us to better understand the virus-host interaction. Bioluminescent/fluorescent ZIKV and SARS-Cov2 constructs are available in the laboratory.
