Abstract In this project, we propose the development of a versatile setup aimed at optomechanical quantum information transducers for the quantum internet. With the proposed experiments, it will be possible to explore the transfer of quantum information between different systems such as levitated nanospheres, optomechanical membranes in optical cavities, structured light beams, squeezed light and levitated nonlinear optical nanocrystals. These advancements will proceed in parallel to international collaborations, notably with the group led by Professor Markus Aspelmeyer, at the University of Vienna. The project will nucleate a new research field in Brazil, namely the experimental exploration of hybrid quantum systems and levitated optomechanics. (AU) | |
