Abstract

The study of gravitational waves has opened new horizons in astronomy and fundamental physics, providing unprecedented insights into the most violent cosmic phenomena. However, to fully exploit these signals, it is crucial to understand and mitigate the noise that can obscure or distort measurements. In this context, "glitches" represent transient and non-periodic noise that can significantly affect the sensitivity of gravitational wave interferometers. Therefore, this project aims to analyze and study the behavior of the main types of glitches using computational methods, based on their Poisson distribution throughout the entire observational run. The temporal distribution of a particular type of glitch, whether Poisson or not, will provide clues to its physical origin, facilitating the identification of its cause and, logically, its elimination or mitigation.
