Abstract

The Microscale Parallel Synthesis (MPS) method combined with the screening of unpurified compounds in parasite-infected cells needs to be validated using traditional synthesis. To test whether raw material from reactions can provide useful screening results against parasite panel assays, the most promising compounds identified will be resynthesized, purified and characterized. Thus, the undergraduate research project will support the main Fapesp Young Investigator Grant (2023/11804-5). The student will assist master's and doctoral students in the traditional synthesis of identified products. For example, to implement the MPS platform and apply the advantages of this method in other projects, the influence of the urea moiety on the basic structure of imidazopyrimidine-derived compounds will initially be explored. The core rings (starting materials) need to be traditionally synthesized and purified. Subsequently, after applying the MPS method, the compounds identified as promising will also be synthesized and purified.
