SUPPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES FOR NELORE BULLS RAISED ON PASTURE IN THE DRY-WATER AND WATER TRANSITION PHASE

Abstract

The experiment will be conducted in the Forage Farming Sector of the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences at UNESP, campus of Jaboticabal - SP during the breeding phase. In the experiment phase (breeding), the animals will be kept in paddocks formed by Urochloa brizantha cv April 2024). The evaluation of performance during breeding will be carried out in an area of 21 ha divided into 12 paddocks, using Nelore bulls, 60 testers and another 24 regulatory animals, with an initial body weight of 280kg. The animals will be randomly distributed into four treatments (3 paddocks per treatment): 1 - Mineral supplement (ad libitum); 2 - Protein-energy supplement (0.25% of body weight-BW); 3 - Protein-energy supplement (0.5% of BW) and 4- Protein-energy supplement (0.75% of BW). The supplements will be formulated with DDGS-INPASA + Probeef MaDDGic. The variables evaluated during the rearing phase will be weight gain per animal and per area, stocking rate.
