Abstract

Accelerated globalization, new technologies, constant economic changes, and increased competitiveness have brought instability to the job market. Alongside these factors, the individual's context and the environment in which they are situated play a significant role in the decision-making process and career development. Generally, the current labor market shapes the notion of a career, expecting workers to take an active role as authors of their own stories. In this context, the present project aims to evaluate the factors associated with career entrenchment, volition, and decision-making difficulties in workers. The sample will consist of 250 workers over 18 years old, with diverse educational backgrounds, working within the Brazilian territory. Data collection will be conducted online, encompassing three instruments with evidence of validity in Brazilian samples: the Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire, the Career Entrenchment Scale, and the Volition at Work Scale. The data analysis plan includes descriptive statistics, correlations, and multiple regressions. It is expected that understanding the complexity of this interaction will contribute to significant knowledge regarding the professional and career development of Brazilian workers.
