Abstract

The brain circuits associated with non-human communication have already been described in various species, including anurans. However, the mechanisms directly responsible for the encoding and decoding of signals have not yet been fully elucidated. The current project aims to bridge the gap between animal communication and neuroscience. The candidate in question will conduct comparative analyses of the main components of communication, using their background in areas such as herpetology, neuroscience, and animal behavior, with the help of project representatives. The researcher will apply computational neuroscience techniques to behavioral studies of vocalization in anurans.
