Abstract

Based on ethnographic work to be carried out during the assembly of the 36th São Paulo Biennial, this research project aims to investigate the perspective of the various people involved in the process of making the exhibition -the production team, the loaders and assemblers responsible for transporting and installing the works, the conservators in charge of maintaining the works, the curatorial team, those responsible for the expographic project, the educators - on the work they do, seeking to reflect on the intertwining of practices, conceptions and materials in the field of contemporary art. The proposal is to think of the Biennale as a laboratory (Latour & Woolgar 1997), which manufactures concepts from an enormous network of practices.
