Abstract

The general objective of this project is to contribute to the research questions and activities of the Regular Project "Socio-biodiverse territories in Maranhão and Pará: environment, knowledge and sustainability", covered by Chamada Amazônia + 10. More specifically, the project seeks to contribute carrying out a collaborative ethnographic record of local agroextractive systems and their sociocultural dynamics, as well as local adaptation and innovation strategies capable of guaranteeing the resistance or resilience of local land management systems and the production of economic alternatives to livestock and soybeans and, therefore, the maintenance of heterogeneous landscapes. The locus of the research is Baixo Tapajós and the main interlocutors are the local partners of the Regular Project, including women's associations and rural producers. Based on consultation with these local collectives, will be defined the target communities of the research and the most appropriate research methodologies, highlighting participant observation, the construction of seasonal calendars and social and georeferenced cartographies and community diagnoses. The research will be guided by the methodological and ethical premises of knowledge co-production, contributing to the transmission of local knowledge and processes of local experimentation and innovation, the improvement of community instruments for valuing traditional local knowledge, as well as knowledge and community management of territories.
